I only do what I enjoy: Queenie Singh

A riveting presence at most social dos, socialite and jewellery designer Queenie Singh has mastered the art of being in the limelight. Known for her open lifestyle, unrivalled dressing sense and unique charm, Queenie strongly believes in living life on her own terms.

After being through many ups and downs in life, Queenie has always come out unaffected and as a vibrant and positive person."I have a simple funda that I always indulge in. I only do those things that I enjoy, and never do what I don't want to do. I always look at the positive side of things and never analyse the darker side. Of course, to maintain this state of mind yoga and meditation are a helpful aid."
Competition kicks up creativity
With jewellery retailers poaching into the field of jewellery designing, does it pose competition for professional jewellery designers? "In the present era, competition is everywhere. Personally, I find competition healthy as it makes you better and keeps you on your toes," she vies, "There's a lot of imitation these days. Small scale designers and retailers imitate designs of the elite ones. This is reason why I have never made my own website, to avoid imitation." Ask her about how she manages to keep her designs unique and deal with stagnation, and she says, "If you have passion and inherent love for something, it never gets stagnant."
Not finished yet
Queenie is planning to do something new now. "Yes, I will soon be launching a finishing school with my friend Rukshana where we will cater to image building, confidence building, personality make-over etc, by this year end."
